This trek combines a visit to various magnificent places in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas.
From the world famous viewpoint of Poonhill we should witness a superb Himalayan sunrise. At the Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), a natural amphitheatre known as Annapurna sanctuary, the mighty Himalayan giants like Annapurna 1, Annapurna 3, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome and Fishtail (Macchapuchhare) rise above 7000m and 8000m. Before entering the Annapurna Sanctuary you will spend a night at the Machhapuchhare Base Camp where a stupendous mountain vista will appear before us.
Meet our representative at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. All the required documents, photos, passport copies etc. are collected for the preparation of all legal documents required during the trek (unless already provided to Himalayan Rock before your arrival in Nepal). On the same day you'll be meeting your guide for the trek.
After breakfast we head to Pokhara by private transport which takes 6-7 hours. On the way we see beautiful views of the Trishuli River which flows side by side throughout most of our journey to Pokhara. We may see people rafting in the Trishuli river.
We start our journey by private transport to Kande, then we start trekking to Tolka. After 3 hours walk uphill and approximately 2 hours downhill we reach our destination at Tolka. Our trek is through the forest with beautiful views of mountains (Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Macchapuchre, Mt. Himchuli, Mt. Dhaulagiri etc.) and nature throughout the trek.
Today we head towards Chomrong, taking about 5-6 hours, up and down hills, passing through rivers, bridges, streams, springs, local villages like Landruk, Jhinudada which are famous tourist destinations finally arriving at Chomrong.
Today we actually enter the valley of the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). It takes around 5-6 hours to reach Dovan by walking equally up and down hills through the forests. As the altitude increases the views of the mountains become increasingly pleasant and beautiful.
As the altitude continues to rise we start walking slower than previously, so we stay at Deaurali which takes around 4-5 hours all the way through forests. There is more probability of seeing snow from here onwards.
As we approach closer to the mountains it starts getting colder. On the way to ABC we first reach MBC which takes around 3 hours and a further 2 hours to ABC. We will be surrounded by mountains from all sides and the density of the vegetation and plants will become sparse. It is one of the best, nearest viewpoints of the mountains (Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Annapurna II and III).
We wake early in the morning to see the stunning sunrise through the mountain ranges and after breakfast we begin our trek down to Bamboo through the same way back downhill leaving MBC behind. Overnight stay in Bamboo.
We start our trek down to Jhinudanda through stone steps most of the time. We will pass Chomrong again on the trek down to Jhinudanda. As soon as we reach Jhinudanda we will be going to a hot spring to refresh and relax.
We commence our trek down to Nayapul which takes 5-6 hours following the Modi River all the way down to Nayapul passing several villages on the way. When we arrive at Nayapul we travel to Pokhara taking 1 hour’s drive.
We drive (6-7 hours drive) back to Kathmandu leaving behind Pokhara, enjoying the countryside view throughout the ride. You can fly by domestic air (35minutes flight) too at your own extra cost.
Later in the evening a farewell dinner will be held.
Depending on the time of departure a Himalayan Rock Trekking and Expedition representative will transport you to the international airport.
